How to Fund Your Own Reality or Documentary TV Show
By: Hector Herrera

A professional actor, producer, director or performer of any kind, can only take so much. Enough is enough already! If you are like a good number of aspiring actors, you are probably fed up with the poor material and the treacherous auditioning process. Lord knows, you are really only waiting till you can build enough brand power to bank your own project anyway. Am I right or am I right?

Well its time you “Take The Lead”. Come on now, you know it belonged to you all along anyway. I’m speaking of course about, getting your own reality/documentary tv show project off the ground and through a new series of weekly blogs, I ma going to tell you how you can create and fund your own project for television and online video distribution and I’ll tell how you can do it without having to find the leprechaun at the end of a rainbow that somehow seems to always be somewhere you are not.

I caution you that unfortunately we all live in the real world of Reality TV and having a solid professional development plan for your film, television or online video project is just a good starting point. This is also not a 100% formula for getting any program underwritten. What it is, is a sound professional strategy for getting underwriting and distributing your program to its audience. It’s a professional producer’s guide to underwriting a Reality TV, Magazine or Documentary style format program.

I launched a multi-million dollar multi-media brand targeting new and expectant mothers currently in its 5th season on Public Television nationwide and 100% Underwritten by Fortune 100 Brands.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing with you…

Tried and true methods for developing your idea from concept to proposal.
Key techniques for understanding Audience Demographic and Psychographic information
Ways to explore all available channels and platforms for Content Distribution/Syndication.
Things to consider in developing a financial plan for production
Ideas for Creating mutually beneficial partnerships that work!

I look forward to bring you some of the top secrets of successful independent producers and filmmakers. I also look forward to seeing your comments, questions and suggestions for subject matter focus. As the American Media landscape changes at breakneck speed, get savvy about the business and get working on something you really care about. All you need is a producer’s roadmap for success.
